A Mississippi witness at Saltillo reported watching a sphere-shaped object that hovered directly over his vehicle and disappeared, according to testimony in Case 82326 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was returning home from shopping at 11:45 a.m. on February 24, 2017.
“I saw it directly in front of me, stationary, about 100 feet above the horizon,” the witness stated. “As I continued, I realized it was much higher as I drove under it.”
The witness stopped his car to get a picture.
“And when I got out, it was gone. Visibility was about three miles in any direction. It was nowhere to be seen. It was not on the ground, not in another direction, not higher up. Just gone.”
The witness was unsure what the object was.
Mississippi MUFON State Director Jeffrey-Peter Hauck and CAG member Stan Seba investigated and closed this case as an Unknown UAV. The case was reported to MUFON February 24, 2017. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Please remember that most UFO reports are resolved as something natural or man-made.
“Object was apparently solid and spherical-shaped that cast light and glowed while hovering in the northern sky,” Hauck and Seba stated in their report. “The object had a white surface and no visible exterior lights. The object was stationary hovering overhead from the primary witness. The object was over 31 to 100 feet in actual size. The object was at an altitude of approximately 101 to 500 feet above the ground, at a distance of less than 500 feet from the witness’s location.”
Saltillo is a city in Lee County, Mississippi, population 4,752.
