The 50-year-old witness and avid outdoorsman was on a camping trip with his grandson at 9:02 p.m. on August 1, 2018.
“I experienced something truly bizarre and life changing,” the witness stated. “This is my story."
“We arrived at the lower lake trailhead in the late morning of July 31st, 2018, and backpacked about two miles to our usual camping spot at the west end of the lake. We set up camp and had a great but uneventful day. The following day, August 1, 2018, we ventured out hiking and fishing at several other small lakes in the area. We returned to camp an hour or so before sunset to eat and settle in for the night.
“We were both pretty tired as we had hiked about eight to 10 miles of very rugged country. My grandson was tired and went to bed about a half-hour after eating dinner. I started a small fire and stayed up to watch the stars.
“The weather was perfect, and the skies were crystal clear. While sitting in my camping chair I began meditating, which is a normal practice for me. I began a simple Vedic meditation practice focusing my thoughts and intentions on kindness, compassion, love and curiosity as to what or who may be out there amongst a sea of stars. I also flashed a very bright LED pulse light directly overhead for two or three minutes. After about 15 minutes or so of meditation I opened my eyes. Much to my surprise, a black triangle-shaped object had appeared seemingly out of nowhere. It was a very, very flat black color and several shades darker than the night sky background. It had a small white light in each corner for a total of three lights. It was approximately 50 to 75 feet above the trees and about 50 to 60 feet to the east of our camp. It was between 25 to 35 feet in length. At this point I was still uncertain as to what I was seeing and remained in my chair with my eyes fixed on it for maybe 30 minutes. After this period of observation, I began to get a little rattled because this thing did not move, and it blocked out the stars as they moved behind it. It was then that I knew it was something of substance, capable of blocking the light of the stars behind it. I then aimed my LED light directly at it and nothing happened. It seemed to absorb the light and not reflect it in any way. I found this to be quite odd as this particular light was very powerful and would easily light up trees 100-plus yards across the lake. At this point I got up out of my chair and began walking 30 or so feet toward the object. I remained standing for the rest of the experience (approximately 2.5 hours). I base this timeline by the amount and type of wood I had placed on the fire. As I got closer to the craft it emitted a quick flash of very white light from all three sides (it had a very slight blueish hue in with the white). It was about as bright as a large camera flash, but, oddly, it did not project light outward onto the trees or anywhere else. This flashing happened two more times at seemingly irregular intervals. Things really got weird as I got closer to the object. I will try to describe it to the best of my ability using what I know to try and explain what I don't know. I walked directly underneath the object, and immediately began to experience a very powerful vibration-type feeling deep within the core of my body. It was similar to standing directly in front of a giant wall of studio monitor speakers at a Metallica concert, except without the sound. This object made no sound whatsoever. The feeling was similar but much, much more intense and different. It wasn't a deep bass-type feeling but much higher in frequency. It was unbearable to stand under it for more than three or four seconds at a time. My excitement had turned to fear by now. It took all my willpower and a lot of deep yoga-type breathing to keep myself together. It felt like all my internal organs were being shaken in a very strange way. After two or three passes underneath this thing, I almost lost control of my urine and bowels. I stepped back about 20 feet or so and dropped my pants and emptied the contents of my bladder and bowels. I never took my eyes off the object for the next two-plus hours. I walked in circles around the object and underneath it very briefly countless times for the rest of the experience. I was kind of like a madman by this point, trying to communicate with this thing with sign language and my flashlight and even my thoughts, but nothing changed. The object never moved or made any noise. At one point I took out my pistol and thought about shooting at it just to get its attention or get some kind of reaction, but I quickly got a feeling that that was a terrible idea. I put my gun back in the holster and kept walking around and near it. I was also afraid to wake my grandson up to this craziness. After what I estimate to be three hours, I was mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. The object never moved or flashed again. The campfire was out and relatively cold. I was more tired than I have ever been. I determined that whatever this was it had no intentions on harming us or it would have done so by now. The experience ended with me yelling at it, ‘show yourself, communicate, move, leave, do something,’ followed by a verbal ‘f--- you, I’m done.’ I checked on my grandson who was sound asleep. I got into my tent and literally passed out within a minute or two. We woke up the next day, did a little fishing and went home. In hindsight, I think the most surprising thing about this experience was that this thing, whatever it was, tuned into my consciousness or thoughts in some manner. I think it appeared as a result of my thought processes and also influenced me not to shoot at it. That's pure speculation, however, and is based only on my feelings.”
