A New Jersey witness at New Brunswick reported briefly watching a black, triangle-shaped object moving beneath the cloud coverage, according to testimony in Case 81648 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was driving north on Route 1 at 7:10 a.m. on January 19, 2017, when the incident occurred.
“Approaching the Route 18N exit, I saw a large, black triangle looking craft descend below the clouds and immediately begin to disappear. I estimate that object to be between one-half to three-quarter of a mile away. The sighting lasted two seconds before it simply faded away. The attached photo is an example of the type of clouds that were present when I observed the object.”
New Jersey MUFON State Section Director Robert Spearing investigated this case and closed it as an Unknown.
“The witness is the highest class of observer with 31 years military helicopter pilot service in national guard,” Spearing wrote in his report. “Had a brief, but substantial sighting of an object black and triangular exit a cloud ceiling and then disappear before his eye as if cloaking itself. Based on his years of experience, object's distance from him was one-quarter to on one-quarter to three-quarter of a mile away and 4000 feet in altitude, making it to his trained eyes about 300 feet head to tail, which is consistent with the large-sized, 300-foot craft frequently seen over New Jersey, lending added credence to his sighting. Individual even offered to help MUFON with helicopter flight logs when necessary. I conclude this is a strong sighting of a possible cloaking Aurora craft. See 1990s Popular Mechanics magazine article on Aurora cloaking capabilities.”
