The witness was driving south on I-9 roughly three miles north of the Arkansas and Missouri border at 10:28 p.m. on May 3, 2018.
“I noticed what I initially thought was a helicopter,” the witness stated. “Once I noticed it, I realized that it was ringed in brilliant white light like over-powered LEDs or (very) bright halogens. I watched it approach from the southeast moving northwest at a very gradual angle as it crossed the highway at treetop height. I noticed that the light was swirling in a light mist that seemed to surround the object. It continued up traveling across the road and as it reached the top of the next hill a brilliant light was emitted from the bottom of the craft almost like a really bright aura. At that time the lights on the side of the craft began to strobe multiple colors and then just winked out all at the same time leaving a void in the sky. I couldn't watch any long as the area that the object went to went past my point of view. Had I not had my family in the car I would have investigated further.”
Missouri MUFON Field Investigator Britt Faaborg closed this case as an Unknown Aerial Vehicle.
