The MUTUAL UFO Network (MUFON) received a total of 572 UFO reports for the month of February where 624 originated in the U.S., according to statistics released March 1, 2019.
The U.S. was the top reporting country at 392; United Kingdom at 50; and the Canada with 41.
The five leading reporting states in January were: California, 50 reports; Florida, 26; Pennsylvania, 19; and Texas and Arizona with 17. Other states with 10 or more reports include: Missouri, Ohio, and New York with 15; Georgia, 13; Illinois and Oregon, 12; Michigan, 11; and New Jersey, Washington, and New Mexico with 10.
The sphere remains the most-reported UFO shape at 88 cases. A triangle shape was the second-most reported at 58, and a disc shape was third with 51. In 232 cases, the object was less than 500 feet away, and 112 reports include testimony where the object was less than 100 feet.
Most impressively, there were 25 reports of UFOs landing, hovering, or taking off. One entity report was received.
