A Washington witness at Winlock reported watching a triangle-shaped object with a “red glowing band” for five to six seconds before it moved out of sight, according to testimony in Case 93703 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The 69-year-old witness woke up at 2:30 a.m. on July 24, 2018 and looked out a bedroom window.
“I have a great view of the sky,” the witness stated. “Pine trees to the left and the right and a low row of trees on the bottom frame the window. I was staring out at the sky when this craft rolled into frame from the left side, north.”
The witness said he was looking at a “complete triangle.”
“I say it rolled into view because it slowly turned in a clockwise direction while slowly moving south in a straight-line motion. It looked to me like a pool rack triangle on its side. There was a wide, red glowing band that ran around the perimeter of the craft. There also was a red circle at each corner. The red glow was very bright and slowly pulsed as it turned. The red light clearly showed the outline of this object. I was fixated on the light trying to set this picture in my mind.”'
The witness described the object’s color.
“The body of the object could have been anywhere from light gray to black. The light defined the edges but obscured the color of the body. I viewed the craft for about five to six seconds total. After this experience I got up and made a quick sketch. Later, I drew it up on a CAD system. I don't really believe that this craft was trying to be stealthy in any shape or form. It was so clear and so defined I believe it could have been seen from miles away. I don't feel the need to have someone justify this sighting, but it would be nice to know someone else had this great experience.”’
Washington MUFON Chief Investigator Daniel Nims closed this case as an Unknown Aerial Vehicle.
“The shape and lighting of the craft are dissimilar to that of any aircraft or helicopter. The lighting did not match any common aircraft lighting. It was larger and slower than a meteorite although it made a straight path. The slowly rotating motion of the craft is unlike any motion an aircraft would make.
“Based on the size, lighting and motion of the object the disposition of the case is Unknown-UAV.”
