Case 58833
Sighting date/time: 9:40 p.m., August 10, 2014
Sighting location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Sighting report date: August 11, 2014
Unedited witness statement: 1. Driving to my friend's house. 2. Bright red and white lights. 3. I thought it was a structure's lights, until it started moving and I stopped my car. 4. It was a wide/long V-shaped object with 2 lights at each point, 2 on the outer wings and one in the middle. Each light was red with a smaller white light atop. 5. Initially I thought it was a building, until it started moving. I observed the distance and realized just how gigantic it was, I tried to then take pictures with my cellphone after pulling the car over. I then followed it to get more pictures. Was pretty excited, not scared or anything negative. 6. It went past a tree-line and I couldn't find a way past that.
Field Investigator: Bob Mitchell, Canada MUFON
Investigation Status: Closed as an Unknown
Investigation Notes: The witness said he spotted the craft while driving in a residential area west of Guelph Line, which is a major north-south route in the city. Part of the city is located on the Niagara Escarpment. Burlington is also located 54 km southwest of Toronto’s Pearson International Airport and commercial airplanes often fly over the city. Burlington is also located 33 km northwest of Hamilton’s International Airport. The city’s southern border is Lake Ontario. The sighting also appeared to occur over a hydro right of way.
Conclusion: Based on the illustration, this object wasn’t a Chinese Lantern, or a satellite. It could have been a drone although not if the witness is correct in his assessment about it being 200 feet long. Because the light weren’t blinking, if correct, this likely wasn’t an airplane. UAW.
