An Arizona witness at Tucson reported watching an egg-shaped object crossing the sky at about 800 feet that made no noise, according to testimony in Case 81697 from the Mutual UFO Network ({MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was traveling west along Edwin Road near near Saddle Brooke at 6:30 p.m. on January 19, 2017, when the incident began.
“Noticed a bright yellow/red glowing light from a vehicle at about 800 feet moving south to north,” the witness stated. “Size of glow was about 30 to 50 feet. Got out of car to watch as it passed overhead. It continued going north at approximately 50 mph. There was NO noise from an engine of any kind. I've been in aerospace work for over 60 years and never witnessed such an event. Previous UFO sighting was on dual radar pickups during a GCA landing in England in 1954.”

Arizona MUFON Field Investigators Marianne Robb and Donald Robb investigated this case and closed it as an Unknown – Other.
“The witness completed a drawing of what he saw on the evening of January 19, 2017, while driving westbound on Edwin Road in the Saddle Brooke community near Tucson,” the investigators wrote in their report. “The drawing has been attached to the CMS. There were no photos taken nor any other witnesses to the sighting. After using Google Earth to familiarize myself to the area of the sighting, I noticed the road the witness was talking about was Edwin, not Edmund. I used the correct road name, ‘Edwin’ in this report. Saddle Brooke community has approximately 2,000 homes and Saddle Brooke Ranch, which is the community directly north of the sighting, has at least 500 homes. The sighting was at 6:30 p.m. There were no other witnesses to a bright red/yellow object 800 feet above the ground and 30-40 feet long. After completing my investigation, I have not been able to identify the type of object seen due to the lack of witnesses and evidence. The report will be concluded as Unknown Other.”
