Spring is finally here and there is increasing anticipation and excitement in the air about the 2016 MUFON Symposium which is quickly approaching. If you haven’t heard, this year’s Symposium will be held August 25–28th at the Four-Star Hilton Lake Buena Vista Hotel in beautiful Orlando, Florida. The hotel sits on Disney Property and offers free shuttle service to the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World to make your stay even more enjoyable.
The MUFON Florida team has chosen the theme for this year’s event: “UFOs: From our Oceans to Outer Space” and lined up an outstanding slate of speakers and special events to make this one of our best Symposiums ever. You can check out the details online at MufonSymposium.com. Some exciting special events have been added to the weekend including a tour of the Kennedy Space Center featuring lunch with an astronaut, some interesting lunchtime speaker panels, two experiencer workshops, and even discount tickets to the Magic Kingdom. How can you beat that?

The Kennedy Space Center tour will take place both Thursday and Friday, August 25th and 26th, and features a luxury coach ride to KSC and lunch with an astronaut. Tickets are limited to the first 100 people who sign up. So get yours early and don’t miss out on this great opportunity! In addition, your Florida team has arranged for some nice discounts for you and the family to enjoy Disney World on your own time without breaking the bank. Enjoy the Park!
Our ever popular speaker panels will be held again this year over lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Sign-up and reserve your seat to hear your favorite speakers share their thoughts in a more intimate environment on a number of topics, including life in space. You’re sure to learn something new, and you’ll even have the opportunity to make some new friends over lunch.
If you’re an Experiencer, our Experiencer Workshops begin at 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday mornings hosted by Denise Stoner and the ERT group. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to network with your fellow experiencers, and find out the latest information about what the MUFON ERT is finding in its research on the subject of human-alien interaction. Exciting stuff indeed!
On the speaker front we have Erling Strand direct from Norway speaking about the Hessdalen Lights Phenomena. Much research has been done on this strange and continuing phenomena and Erling will be here to present us with the latest information and what’s been found scientifically regarding it. You’ll also see a number of MUFON mainstays with our Director of Research, Robert Powell, sharing the MUFON Science Review Board’s “Top 10 UFO sightings of 2015.” Richard Hoffman, MUFON SD, who will take us through the recent Aguadilla Puerto Rico case and the extensive analysis that has been done to determine what it is and what it is not. And Ben Moss and Tony Angiola, Chief Investigator and Assistant State Director for Virginia respectively, who have been working overtime on the 1964 Socorro, New Mexico case complete with a landed saucer and police witness. Rumor has it they may come with some NEW, never before seen film clips, you won’t want to miss. This could be significant! And that’s just scratching the surface of all the speakers who are going to be there. To review the entire list of speakers go to MufonSymposium.com and click on the Speakers tab.
All in all it’s going to be a great time, so put it on your calendar - make your hotel reservations early before prices go up. The best part of the entire weekend is the networking and comradery between sessions, over mealtime, and late at night. That alone is worth the admission price. With that, I look forward to seeing you at the Symposium and having the pleasure of saying hello to you in-person. It’s going to be a blast.
