To let you understand the magnitude of this event, the massive Pasadena Convention Center parking lot was sold out 40 minutes before the doors even opened. There was buzz in the air generated by the excitement of the crowd to see and meet their favorite UFO-alien heroes from television. Researchers and actors attended from shows like Ancient Aliens, Hangar 1, Star Trek, Lost in Space and others, and the event did not disappoint. It was sold-out, with lines going out the doors and around the block, as people vied to get to the next lecture or panel discussion ahead of the thundering herd of like-minded UFO-alien diehards.
Featured speakers included our own John Brandenburg, Nick Pope, and Kathleen Marden, who will be speaking at the 2018 MUFON Symposium this month (MUFONSymposium.com). If you haven’t purchased your ticket for the Symposium, I strongly encourage you to do it today. Others included Michael Bara, Steven Bassett, Linda Moulton Howe, Seth Shostak, and George Tsoukalos, from Ancient Aliens and In Search of Aliens. Present, also, were actors Bill Mumy and Angela Cartwright from the original Lost in Space series (also MUFON members), and Robert Picardo from the Star Trek TV series. One can check the entire program at Aliencon.com. It was exciting to see the success television had galvanizing support for the subject of UFOs and aliens.
MUFON’s role was to educate the public on subjects like “First Contact,” “How to Report a UFO Sighting,” and “Alien Abductions.” I wish to thank Kathleen Marden, director of our ERT; Earl “Grey” Anderson, ASD Southern CA; Bill Crowley and wife Tamara Scott, board members of MUFON Orange County; member and mentor Harold Burt, author of UFOs 101 and Ron James, executive producer for MUFON TV, who MC’d the first two panels. They did an outstanding job representing all of us, and I wish to thank them for volunteering their time to speak out and reach thousands of potential NEW MUFON members while sharing the truth about MUFON and what we know to be true. Fantastic job, team!
