A Florida witness at Orange City reported watching a triangle-shaped object crossing the sky at high speed, according to testimony in Case 81973 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was home working at 11 p.m. on February 6, 2017.
“I needed to stretch and get some fresh air, so I went outside to walk around,” the witness stated. “In Florida we do not get many ultra-clear nights due to humidity and temperature, but this night was chilly at approximately 52-53 degrees. I was overlooking the lake and was mesmerized by the number of stars that were visible.”
The sky was very clear.

I was overlooking the lake and was mesmerized by the number of stars that were visible.”
The sky was very clear.

“I immediately was able recognize constellations that are normally not visible. I stood there looking up for about 20 minutes when an object moving from the southeast to the northwest caught my eye.”
The witness first thought the object was the top-secret TR-3B.
“It was moving at a fast rate of speed as it took approximately 35-40 seconds to cross from one horizon to the other. Due to the time that it took to travel in my field of vision I could clearly see the outline of the triangle craft that would black out the stars behind it. There was a light at each corner that was a bright pearl-like, almost white, appearance with much smaller reddish blinking lights (barely visible) on the tip of the corners. In the center of the belly of the craft was a larger reddish/orangish light, approximately one-third of the size of this craft. It was not as predominant obvious pearl-like lights, but it was definitely there. The craft was maneuvering at a high altitude, but low enough to observe the object without question. It was a little smaller than a golf ball, which gave an extraordinary opportunity to view it in detail. I noticed at that time there were no other aircraft that was in view. It was the only thing in the sky, which is unusual for central Florida.”
Florida MUFON Field Investigator Carl Paulson closed this case as an Unknown UAV.
“When asked about the size of the object, it was stated that at arm’s length, at its largest, it was larger than a quarter (25 cent piece) and smaller than a golf-ball,” Paulson stated in his report. “The entire flight witnessed was described to be 35 - 40 seconds, possibly 45 seconds long. The oddest portion of the description occurred when the witness described the orientation of the craft as it flew: it was stated that in flight, the front of the object was one of the sides, the back of the object was the opposite interior angle. When asked about the sound, it was stated there was absolutely no sound from the triangle. It was, however, stated that animal noises seemed to stop as the object flew over.”
Orange City is in Volusia, FL.
