Dr. Karla Turner - Expanding the Parameters of the Alien-Human Abduction Agenda
My experiences as an abductee and my subsequent work with other abduction reports has shown me that ufology's current understanding of the abduction phenomenon underestimates the situation. This paper will present the need for an expanded definition of the abduction scenario and will illustrate those aspects which are not commonly known or discussed. Primary illustrations will come from a group of eight female abductees whose reports are presented in TAKEN , but other reports are also considered. Correlations of abduction accounts indicate the need for serious investigations into the sexual activities foisted upon abductees, into the technological aspects of alien-human interactions, and into the involvement of human agents and organization with abductees. This paper will also discuss evidence of perceptive changes that may be occurring in the human species in response to the intrusive stress of the abduction agenda.
Dr. Barry H. Downing - UFOs and Religion: Of Things Visible and Invisible
One of the most important aspects of the UFO experience is its ability to be visible some of the time, but invisible most of the time. This is a characteristic UFOs share with the God of the Judaeo-Christian tradition. This paper explores the way I have dealt with the theme of UFOs and religion in the past 25 years, and the significance of the visible/invisible nature of both God and UFOs.

Yvonne R. Smith - Anatomy of an Abduction
Over the last few years of investigating abduction cases, I have come to the conclusion that my work is extremely tedious, frustrating, confusing, and quite often, upsetting. On the other hand, my work has also been interesting, and monumentally rewarding as I think of all the wonderful, sensitive and credible people that I have had the pleasure of working with to help them cope with this intrusion in their lives. It is because of these people, the abductees, that I have remained in this field, searching for an answer that possibly makes sense.
As time went on, in case after case, definite patterns and correlations began to emerge. During the process of cognitive interviews and regressive hypnosis, these individuals were describing chilling, oftentimes, mind-boggling stories that extend way beyond one's own sense of reality. Yet, these stories were emerging from housewives to medical doctors; people that cannot be dismissed out of hand. I will present my findings of a "typical abduction experience" from beginning to end, along with case studies from my files which will be used as examples to illustrate the dynamics of the experience
I will also discuss how regressive hypnosis is applied during the course of investigating an abduction case and why I feel it is a useful tool when attempting to put together the pieces of an enormous puzzle.
Robert O. Dean - UFOs and World History
Proof of an Old Interrelationship Between the Human Race and Advanced ET Intelligence
An astonishing super-secret NATO report entitled "The Assessment" compiled in the early 1960s by top-level military experts and scientists concluded that:
- Earth has been spied upon by several extraterrestrial civilizations for thousands of years
- These civilizations appear to be peaceful since they are so advanced they could have taken over our planet by now
- The visitors are increasing contact with us in a gradual enfoldment of a plan in which they eventually interact with Earth's inhabitants
The eight-inch-thick official report took three years to complete. Robert Dean, a retired Army Command Sergeant Major, served as an intelligence analyst holding "cosmic top-secret clearance" (the highest given at NATO) while he was attached to SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) in the 1960s.
The study was ordered by British Air Marshall Thomas Pike, chief deputy to SACEUR (Supreme Allied Commander Europe) and General Lyman Lemnitzer and was initiated by NATO in response to hundreds of confirmed sightings of mysterious, fast-moving spacecraft in western Europe, particularly over military installations.
Jack Kasher, Ph.D. - A Scientific Analysis of the Videotape taken by Space Shuttle Discovery on Shuttle Flight STS-48
On September 15, 1991 , Space Shuttle Discovery videotaped several anomalous, glowing objects that floated along and then sharply changed direction, apparently in response to a flash in the lower left portion of the picture. Shortly afterwards two streaks passed through the regions vacated by some of the objects. The film attracted a great deal of attention because of the possibility that the accelerating objects were spacecrafts maneuvering out in space away from the Shuttle. Four NASA scientists viewed the videotape and suggested that the objects were ice particles accelerated by the Shuttle's attitude adjustor rockets. Their analysis was qualitative, and did not include any numerical calculations.
This paper is a quantitative, scientific study of the videotape. Starting with a frame-by-frame analysis of the position of the main object, the author would have been able to obtain all three of its velocity components, as well as its location, if it truly were an ice particle. In the process he has developed five separate proofs that the main object could not have been an ice particle.
In the process he has developed five separate proofs that the main object could not have been an ice particle near the Shuttle. This and other prosaic explanations can be easily dismissed. The only viable alternative that remains is that it was a spacecraft; and the other objects, since they reacted at the same time as the main one and in similar fashion, were probably spacecraft, too. This paper concludes with a discussion of the implications of these conclusions.
What follows is the main text from a report I have filed with the Fund for UFO Research, which provided partial financial support for this work. For the sake of brevity the author has omitted the appendices, even though there are several references to them in the text. The entire report can be obtained from FUFOR.
Vladimir V. Rubtsov, Ph.D. - Alien Contacts and Abduction Experiences: A Look from the C.I.S.
The paper considers several cases of supposed alien contacts and near-abduction experiences which took place in the former Soviet Union and have been studied by the author. The methodology of such inquiry is discussed. Despite the restricted quantity of the materials presented, it seems plausible that there are noteworthy differences between such cases observed in the USSR/CIS and Western countries. A more substantiated comparison of these data sets requires extensive international research by comparable methods.
Richard F. Haines, Ph.D. - Insights from Studying Groups of UFOs
This paper summarizes the results of an examination of 230 UFO sighting reports which involves two or more aerial objects seen flying "together" at the same time and place. No one has systematically studied this interesting subject so far. Surprisingly, cases of this kind were found as far back in time as 1504 BC up to the present time with from two to "hundreds" of objects seen. The sightings I collected and analyzed involved 3,126 different witnesses in forty states of the union and 35 foreign countries. While most witnesses (representing 162 cases of the 230 studies) were on the ground, 57 cases involved pilots and flight crew in the air, nine cases involved both air and ground witnesses and two cases took place on ships at sea. The cases were grouped into 17 flight dynamic categories to see if they might somehow display similarities or differences. The conclusions from this review are quite simple. In a large majority of these reports, the multiple objects: (1) all appear alike, (2) are usually oval or disc shaped, (3) possess no visible means of propulsion, (4) appear metallic, (5) possess no markings, wings, vertical stabilizer, or other surface detail, (6) fly in a rigid formation across the sky, (7) and show a single rigid formation throughout the sighting (37 cases). Four cases involved multiple objects in one formation which subsequently changed into a second formation, six cases included three consecutive formations, and one case included objects which flew slowly across the sky going through six rigid formations! Only a very tiny fraction of all the sighting reports studied here can be explained as flocks of birds, precision acrobatic airplanes, or some astronomical event. The majority are clearly under highly intelligent control. It isn't likely that our intelligence is high enough to build and fly such marvelous craft as these. Only time will tell whether or not we ever will.
John. F. Schuessler, M.S. - MUFON - A World Leader in Ufology
Twenty-five years ago MUFON began as the Midwest UFO Network, Inc., intent upon serving the people of the central part of the United States by providing responsible UFO investigations and research. We were so successful that people outside the Midwest soon wanted to become affiliated with MUFON. Recognizing that need, MUFON changed its name to the Mutual UFO Network, Inc., and stepped into the world arena. With the strong leadership of Walter H. Andrus, Jr., MUFON's International Director, and an active board of directors, a powerful advisory board of consultants and research specialists, and a well-trained cadre of field investigators, MUFON is now recognized as a world leader in Ufology. And this is just the beginning.
Richard H. Hall - The Quest for Truth about UFOs: A Personal Perspective on the Role of NICAP
The National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) was formed in 1956, flourished through about 1970, and declined gradually thereafter. There were three distinct eras of NICAP, the differences between which are important for historical understanding. What I call " the real NICAP" was headed by Maj. Donald E. Keyhoe starting in 1957, and I became his assistant in 1958. For approximately 12 years, NICAP was a large and very effective UFO organization. This is the NICAP that accomplished a lot against great odds, as I will explain. When the negative University of Colorado (Condon Committee) report was released in 1968, NICAP began a downhill slide and gradually faded away after the Air Force closed down Project Blue Book in 1969. Its assets finally were purchased by the Center for UFO Studies.
James A. Harder, Ph.D. - the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization, Inc. and the Future of Ufology
Recounts a brief history of APRO and its directors, Jim and Coral Lorenzen, from 1952 to 1988. Describes the evolution of their approach to the extraterrestrial phenomenon, and their early interest in close encounters beginning with the Betty and Barney Hill case in 1961. Traces the growth of APRO in recruiting representatives in 45 nations and 34 consultants in many scientific and scholarly areas. Describes its collaboration with the National Enquirer and some of the latter's ironic responses to the Travis Walton case. Continues with a discussion of the issues that were important to the Lorenzens, and what the future might bring in the way of issues we have yet to confront.

George Knapp - What the Russians Know about UFOs
The historic dissolution of the USSR has afforded Western journalists and historians unprecedented access to previously classified records and documents. Those files confirm long-held suspicions that the Soviet government, at its highest levels, was (and still is) intensely interested in the UFO phenomenon. UFO studies were conducted by the Russian military, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and by private organizations and individuals. Russian intelligence agencies are convinced that the UFO topic is the subject of similar official interest in the U.S.
