MUFON is pleased to announce that effective August 1st Erica Lukes has been appointed the new Utah State Director for MUFON.
Erica is a professional vocalist and began studying classical voice at the University of Utah at the age of 16. She writes and records her own music and has toured the world with the University choir and been in several bands over the years recording 6 different albums. She is currently a master Pilates Instructor who owns and operates Total Body Pilates in Salt Lake City.
Erica became interested in the subject of UFOs at the age of 6, when she picked up her first book on UFOs. She has spent the last 25 years studying the phenomenon with her interest focused on abduction research. Dr. John Mack, Budd Hopkins, Kathleen Marden and Dr. Frank Salisbury have all been an inspiration to her.
She joined MUFON after several unexplained sightings in the Salt Lake valley and believes with the NSA and Dugway proving ground in her backyard, there is lot of unexplained phenomenon that must be documented and shared with the world.
Her goal as State Director of Utah is to put Utah back on the MUFON radar. Please join us in congratulating Erica on her promotion to State Director for Utah.

The second highest number of UFO sightings were reported to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) in 2013; a total of 6,448 reports.
MUFON employs trained field investigators with backgrounds in science and law enforcement that interview witnesses to “identify” UFOs. Although most of the reports are identified as known celestial objects, aircraft, meteors, etc., there are always a small percentage of the cases that remain as true “UFOs.” These latter cases are carefully reviewed by a science board.
MUFON's Science Review Board (SRB) consists of scientists with degrees in physics, chemistry, geology and electrical engineering. Their work experience includes NASA, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Advanced Mico Devices, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and France's national space program, CNES. The SRB has reviewed the best cases from the year 2013 and have identified the strongest cases that cannot be identified as any known object.
Bill Kingsley believes there is something beyond our world, in machines that would be miracles to men, above the night skies.
“I think with the infinity of space that there has to be more advanced civilizations in the universe. We don’t know how old the universe is,” Kingsley said.
Kingsley, a Winn resident, said his fascination with the idea of life that didn’t originate on Earth started in his teenage years in the 1960s, when reports of mysterious floating objects would appear in newspapers.

Long time MUFON member and UFO researcher Stanton Friedman suffered a mild heart attack on Friday night, June 27, 2014.
“I spoke with him this morning and am very pleased to report that he is feeling strong and chipper,” said Kathleen Marden, MUFON’s Director of Abduction Research. “His heart enzymes have declined, so he has turned the corner. He is awaiting a dye test and an echocardiogram. This will probably occur in the next day or two.”
Marden says he does not presently have access to a public phone or computer, but will reply to email messages when he returns home in a few days.
“Please do not call his home,” she said. “Well wishers can send cards to Stan at: P.O. Box 958, Houlton, ME 04730. He appreciates everyone's thoughts and prayers.”
Friedman writes the “perceptions” column in the monthly MUFON UFO Journal and was a scheduled speaker for the upcoming MUFON Annual Symposium. Due to Friedman’s current health condition, we are pleased to announce that “Hangar 1: The UFO Files” Executive Producer Paul Villadolid will be with us in Cherry Hill as the closing speaker for the 2014 MUFON Symposium.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Stan and his family right now,” said MUFON Executive Director Jan C. Harzan. “I spoke to him shortly after his heart attack, and he sounded great. It looks like he’s on the road to a speedy recovery.”
