- A branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts systematically arranged
- Systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation
Clearly based on these two definitions MUFON is doing science because we are the only UFO organization in the world that extensively collects facts and data based on the public’s first hand observation of UFO events. In addition our CMS database has over 200 data points systematically arranged on each and every sighting report we receive. The work our field investigator’s do to fill in the missing blanks during their investigations and meetings with witnesses goes a long way toward helping us achieve the second half of our mission statement which is “for the Benefit of Humanity”. This is only possible because we have done the first part of our mission statement with excellence which is to collect the data and observations to allow for the breakthroughs in science that will ultimately follow from this collection of systematic knowledge.
So what possible benefit could the study of UFOs have for humanity? Well I can think of many, and I am sure you can too, once we understand how these craft work. The first one that comes to mind is advancing transportation, our ability to travel around the globe in minutes versus the hours it takes today. People could literally visit family in New York in the morning, have lunch in Paris, and return home to Hong Kong in the evening for a movie. Of course I have not even mentioned the ability to travel among the Stars or to other planets, but this would be possible as well.
A second benefit would be the breakthrough in energy technology that would end our dependence on fossil fuels. Long a dream of many in the UFO field it would now be a reality. Clean zero point energy, if that is in fact what it is, would allow every man, woman and child on the planet to become energy independent. Entire countries that were once considered 3rd world would rise to the same status energy wise as even the most advanced countries on earth. It would end the need for wars over energy resources, if not the wars themselves.
But I truly believe that the biggest breakthrough for mankind in solving the UFO riddle will be the change that happens within ourselves. A fundamental 10,000 year paradigm shattered with the realization that we are NOT alone. In an instant we will no longer be at the head of the pecking order, but rather one of dozens, if not hundreds or thousands of civilizations that God created in this vast universe and perhaps other universes as well. This notion will change the way we look at each other as human beings from one of national boundaries to one of just being members of planet earth, and hopefully working together to make this the best place to live in the galaxy.
Now wouldn’t that be a nice change of pace.
