This was repeated in 2013 when Stephen Bassett created the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure, again at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. This time over forty witnesses were gathered in the form of a mock congressional hearing. It was an outstanding collection of some of the best minds on the UFO/ET phenomena on planet earth. Well financed, professionally run, even a high powered PR firm was brought in to make sure it was all done right. I have marveled at the 10 minute video clips available on the internet of the witnesses testifying to past members of congress on what they know to be true, and yet the same result as before. Deafening silence. Those who believed before the hearing, continue to believe, and those who do not have UFOs and ETs in their worldview pass over the subject as if it does not exist. Even after being shown videos of highly credible witnesses!
So when WILL the shift in worldview occur for mankind and how will it happen? Thomas Kuhn wrote in the “Structure of Scientific Revolutions” in 1962 “that a scientific revolution occurs when scientists encounter anomalies that cannot be explained by the universally accepted paradigm within which scientific progress has thereto been made.” The paradigm, in Kuhn's view, is not simply the current theory, but the entire worldview in which it exists, and all of the implications that come with it.
Well, we have lots of scientific anomalies being reported to us, they are coming to us by the hundreds every month in the way of UFO sighting reports. MUFON and others in this field are doing their best to provide this information to the public. While many wait for government disclosure, my bet is that this will happen one mind at a time as people come to wrap their heads around the vastness of the universe and the fact that the data is shouting that we are not alone. Perhaps Max Planck, the famous German physicist, had it right “A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.” I sure hope not, I don’t think you or I want to wait that long.
