The 2015 MUFON Symposium is just weeks away and the excitement is already beginning to build. We’ve added a number of exciting new events including the “Hangar 1” Hangout on Saturday night hosted by LA Radio personality Jimmy Church. “Hangar 1’s” Executive Producer Paul Villadolid will be there along with Henry Capanna, CEO for Go Go Luckey Productions, and the entire production staff who developed the show. Cast members who will be at the hangout include Ben Moss, Michael Bara, Jeremy Ray, Lee Speigel, Tony Angiola, Melissa Tittl, John Ventre, Jan Harzan, and many others. Even more exciting is the fact that key witnesses from the show will be there to share their incredible experiences with you in person!
A second “Hangar 1” witness, Kevin Via, was a sailor aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in 1991. He was the Petty Officer in Charge (POIC) of the Photo Lab. “In my years as a Navy photographer I photographed some weird stuff and it could always be explained away. I had made it a habit to watch the sunset from the aft of the ship every night. One night I got out of the lab late but decided I would go aft to watch the stars anyway. It helped me clear my head. While out there we went “darken ship” and I was inadvertently locked out. What I’m about to say will probably make you think I’m loony because what I saw did not come from the sky, it came from the water and was square or triangular-shaped and was about 200 yards off the side of the ship and just sat there for 15 minutes – then bam it was gone. The odd thing was how intense of a verbal bashing I got by NIS [Naval Investigative Service which later became NCIS - Naval Criminal Investigative Service] when I wasn’t at General Quarters. They heard I had been locked outside and seemed very concerned about that.” You’ll definitely want to meet Kevin and hear his testimony for yourself!
Also, Lee Speigel from the Huffington Post will be part of the Saturday night hangout. Lee is one of the few (count ‘em TWO) UFO reporters in the United States working for major media. In 1978 Lee teamed up with Astronaut Gordon Cooper to set up a meeting with the United Nations to get them to start taking the UFO subject seriously. In a letter which Lee encouraged Gordon to write to the United Nations he stated, “I believe that these extra-terrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets, which obviously are a little more technically advanced than we are here on Earth. I feel that we need to have a top level, coordinated program to scientifically collect and analyze data from all over Earth concerning any type of encounter, and to determine how best to interface with these visitors in a friendly fashion.” Sounds like the MUFON Mission Statement – now if we could just get the United Nations to follow suit!
This is just a sampling of the fun you are going to have attending this year’s MUFON Symposium at the Hotel Irvine, in Irvine CA. Not to mention the 11 great speakers, one incredible Master of Ceremonies in John Greenewald, founder of the Black Vault, and six incredible Special Events. The dates again are September 25th through the 27th.
